In the olden days, we’d connect to the Internet through our tablets, computers, and cellphones. Now, the Internet is all around us in the form of household items such as blenders, washers, microwaves and clocks. The idea that the internet should be everywhere is a revolution that has been on nonstop display at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this week.
The biggest splash at the event has been “wearables”. Wearable tech is a category of technology devices that can be worn by a consumer such as glasses, smart-watches, headphones, and jewelry.
Gartner predicts that the wearables market will grow rapidly, and by 2016 smart watches will comprise about 40 percent of consumer wrist worn devices. As expected, Twitter has been blowing up with news of wearable technology from CES 2015. We’ve handpicked a few of our favorite tweets.

Wearable technology for dogs? Good. It’s about time the energy in my dog’s wagging tail was harnessed and used to charge my phone.
